Student Engagement Learning Community
Student engagement, teaching strategies, and instructor burnout have all shifted in the past few years. The Center for the Skills & Experience Flags has recruited a small group of faculty members who are teaching Flag courses to participate in a year-long learning community focused on increasing student engagement and well-being.
The learning community will review current research on the problem and meet with campus experts on relevant topics, such as student and instructor mental health, student support and equity, instructors’ workload, the impact of technologies on teaching and learning, and more. The end goal for the learning community is to connect with other instructors, exchange ideas and innovative teaching methodologies, and share what we’ve learned with the rest of campus.
Our call for participants in the learning community received overwhelming interest from faculty members across a range of disciplines. We are delighted to welcome the following instructors to our Learning Community, and excited to cultivate ways for a more holistic and enriching learning environment for all students and instructors!
